Scotland Adventure 2015

I am providing an opportunity to share in the adventure of gathering reference material for my next body of work. I will be traveling to Scotland during July and August of 2015 to do research and photograph subject matter that will focus on nature, culture, and the rich history of the regions I will be visiting.  Upon return of the trip I will produce a large body of work based on the wildlife, unique culture and the wild places in which I'll wander.  I will also be writing an illustrated artist's travel journal that will document my experiences while backpacking into parts of Scotland where most folks usually don't venture!

What you get for your investment in the adventure -

* 'Tapadh Leat!" An illustrated signed certificate. These will be printed with a pen-and-ink illustration of Eilean Donan castle, and further embellished with a small hand-painted thistle in place of a seal.  Each will be signed, with your name inscribed, and mailed to you promptly.

* Next summer during my wanders, a print of one of my current paintings in postcard format with a personal message will be mailed to you from somewhere in Scotland.

* Upon return, I will produce smaller paintings framed at 8x10.  These paintings will utilize 1 to 3 domestic turkey covert wing feathers or smaller wing feathers
( 5 to 7 inches in length ), depending on their breadth and the subject matter chosen.  Frame moulding and matting colors will vary, as will the coloration of the various feathers used.  You will receive one of these framed paintings at no further charge, and you will have the opportunity to select your subject matter from a series of images compiled during the adventure.

*A discounted price for any of the other works produced from this trip, as well as a discount on the illustrated artist's travel journal once it is published.

Further information
Price: $85 within the US, $95 in Canada, $115 within Scotland, the UK, and elsewhere in the world.

The intent is to keep the price of this package small so that most anyone who wishes to participate may do so, and it is still substantially lower than the value of one of my full-sized, framed feather paintings.  It will require about a year and a half to produce the miniature works and the larger works from inspirations and gathered sketches and images from this adventure.  I would arrange for a showing of these paintings and a presentation here in Washington State before disbursing the miniatures by post to their owners.

If you are interested in owning your own unique, one-of-a-kind piece of the adventure, a Paypal button is below for your convenience. Questions, further information, or to purchase via check or money order, drop me a note by way of the email button which  is also below.
"Old Man of Storr" - Rock formations on the Isle of Skye, Scotland.
This is one example of a miniature feather painting on covert wing feathers, framed at 8x10.  Frame mouldings and mattings will vary as I strive to give each painting its own unique visual presentation.
Each patron will be sent a certificate like the one pictured above.  These are a limited print run, there will be no more than two hundred issued.  Each certificate will have its print number hand-written in the center of the compass (lower left corner), his or her name in calligraphy by brush, and a hand-painted thistle remarque. Each certificate is personally signed.
Purchases for this package are now closed. Sorry!
